Copa America, Argentina and TVUNetworks.com | Yesterday I enjoyed one of the many wonders of the web 2.0. It all started with me putting $50 on Argentina to win at odds 1.55 on PartyBets and ended with me and 2 neighbors watching live the Copa America semi-final between Argentina and Mexico.
It was a highly intensive affair, with Argentina playing some of the best football I have ever seen. Mexico wasn't a walkover, having secured their place in the semi-final with a 6-0 win over Paraguay, but against them stood the best international squad in the world. Consider that Diego Milito the 2nd most scoring player in the Spanish La Liga this season couldn't make the starting 11 as he is competing with Tevez and Messi (and Crespo, who is slightly injured) for the two striker positions.
The passes where crisp, the goals beautiful and Messi wasn't even the best player on the pitch, that honor going to the Wizard Riquelme who plays like the late-career Michael Laudrup. The game ended 3-0 to Argentina.
For a while now I have been Beta-testing Joost, but found that it doesn't run that good on my computer. For last nights broadcast we used TVUNetworks.com, which doesn’t require you to register, just download the client and everything works fine. I highly recommend it, if for nothing else then to watch the GolTV broadcast of Sundays final Argentina vs. Brazil. I have already put down $100 on Argentina to win at odds 1.95:)

Oh and the GolTV broadcast is in English, with an American and a Scottish commentator, even if the channel (as well as it's commericals) is Spanish. |

Good thing you didn't bet the farm then... |

Yeah! Was one weird game, now the profit from the earlier argentina games is gone. Talk about a great team having an off day at the worst possible time. |

Now I'm wondering if I should put down $25 on Hilm to win the WSOP |

Maybe you should stop gambling on the ones you'd like to win... |

Well Argentina was the clear favorite to win the last game. Odds where 1.95 on Argentina and 4.50 on Brazil when I put my money in...and they even fell to 1.80 on Argentina...they where heavily favored...so that snappy comeback fails completely |

It doesn't really matter whether the odds are favorable or not. You have a history of betting on "your" teams/players, and - favorable odds or not - that's just not very smart. Snappy comeback stands. |

Oh, and you didn't bet on Hilm, did you? |

Nope, he gave to little odds |

And na, the Argentine bet was a good bet. They fielded their best squad, Brazil fielded a B-squad without Ronaldinho, Kaka and a few other stars. The fact that I got much better odds then people betting late makes it a good value bet, comparing to the line the bookies expect. |

I was considering betting on RainKhan. He gave very good odds, but luckily I didn't. |
