This very long comic even got mentioned on today's Wikipedia main page. It has it's own wikipedia page, where you can read the whole plot if you don't want to scroll through 3000+ frames.
One of the things I love about it is that it deals with a future occurance of the Messinian salinity crisis and Zanclean flood. One of my all time favorite geological events - one which I wished fantasy writers used in their books.
The attention to detail is great, the night sky is missing Antares, since it likely will go Supernova within the next 10000 years.
