I think I agree with Vuzman there - Most of those descriptions are probably how Americans would describe those states.
I mean - Tenessee (Nashville) consisting exclusively of black jazz-musicians?
And how many Europeans think the Salem witch-hunts happened in Salem OREGON?
I think the correct description of the link would be: "How stupid Americans think stupid Europeans see America"

Ah every statement has to be 100% correct with you guys. It is supposed to be funny; not a correct representation of how Europeans (now there's a generalization) correctly view each state in America. The cartoon characters are a hint, just have fun with it. A little incorrectness doesn't automatically make everything unfunny

It was fun. No need to over-analyze it, but since this is us
Salem is the state capital of Oregon, and uninitiated people, taking a look at the state capitals will confuse the stories
Tennessee is country and Elvis heaven more than black jazz music...I'll give you that one
Illinois is another odd one: Europeans would mostly think Windy city, Gangsters, home of Capone... not same last names and pizza.
