I guess most people have heard of Arctic Monkeys, but I have a feeling that few people actually know their music. That's certainly how it was for me. The little I'd heard of them didn't really do it for me. I've been listening a bit to their latest album 'AM', and I must say, I quite like it.

Once upon a time in Aliennizer fabulous Sommerhus we discussed Supertramp, and as someone professed their love for Take the Long Way Home, I mentioned that it wasn't even the best song with that name - discussion ensued.
The song that comes to my mind when someone says take the Long Way Home is this one - by the anti-crooner Tom Waits.

Since the World Cup is on I figured we need a football anthem up here
Fat Les - consisting of Alex James (Blur), Keith Allen (and a young Lily Allen), and Damien Hirst - set out to do a parody football chant, complete with a video parodying "Bitter Sweet symphony", but as the years have gone on it's become the most popular England song by a fair margin, with Three Lions being it's only real competitor for that title. Guess it's a great song to sing while drunk
