Searching around Cracked.com I came across this list made by David Wong. I was thinking about the linkbox as I read the first part, but Mr. Wong makes such a scary argument that I'd like some more input from you guys. My gut feeling is, that he is more than just somewhat right in his hypothesis.
Basically his piece is about how we'll live in a post-scarcity, and only marketing people (Don Draper & co) will save companies and our jobs, since almost anything can be done at no cost, and all jobs are thus redundant.
We Internet types are so busy haggling over video games with DRM that we're not grasping the scale of this. We're like a dog who's been cooped up behind a fence his whole life, and now a storm has knocked down the gate. The dog looks out and thinks, "Wow, out there is the front yard!"
No, Fluffy. Out there is the whole world.
It's well worth the read, oh and also check the HTC vs IPhone video at the end
