This probably deserves it's own news item, but I have a lot to do so instead it's a forum post.
Seems some brilliant Chinese company has figured out a way to create an electronic cigarette which you can smoke indoors with
An e-cigarette (or e-cig) is a mechatronic version of a cigarette, providing small amounts of the chemical nicotine with each inhalation.

1) How much is it gonna cost?
2) Why not just use one of those plastic nicotine dispensers?
3) Us non-smokers really don't care whether the 2nd-hand smoke is dangerous or not; we just want to limit your freedom!

Since E-cigaretts have become a popular topic amongst us lately I started searching around a bit on their health effects and ran across this article on politiken.dk.
Now I'm not a fan of Klarlund, she has made some pretty bold, and in discussion with other doctors and med students, unfounded statements concerning cigarettes in other articles, but she brings forward some good pointers. Apparently they produce Acrolein and Diethylene glycol, both which are pretty nasty substances.
One thing going against her article is that she claims it's invented by R.J Reynolds, while Wikipedia (which I do trust a lot more) cites a Chinese pharmacist with the invention, if she makes a mistake there then what other mistake does she make...
Also: who remembers this thread? I didn't but searched before making a new one just in case we had done a topic on this before

Had forgotten all about this thread.
RJ Reynolds did develop Premier, a supposedly 'safer' cigarette, throughout the 80's, which went to market in 1988. I guess it isn't electronic, can't really tell, but I guess this is what Klarlund was talking about.
This is the article I mentioned I stumbled across. The study mentioned focuses primarily on exposure to the liquid nicotine. I would be more worried about the dangers Klarlund mentioned; exposure is more avoidable.

There one can read regarding the stuff that is in the e-cigarettes that i do "vapor".
Im quiet fond of this .. vapor thingy, at least i feel better now after 1 month of not smoking any cigarettes, so im gonna stick to these e-cigarettes, and then instead order less nicotine.. with each "batch" i order.. (one batch lasts about 50 days) so .. i should go on lower nicotine and lower until i hopefully am totally free.. :b (longer process) but im guessing in a year
