Take this test, which way does she spin? I can only see her going clockwise, cannot even begin to think how she could spin counter-clockwise, but others on the airliners.net forum have the reverse opinion and only see her going counter-clockwise...
Guess I'm:
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS

Damn this is weird...if I look at this using peripheral vision only she goes counter-clockwise, but if I'm looking directly at her she goes clockwise...weird shit.

What tha hell are u talking about she is going one way and thats counter-clockwise. Peripheral vision doesn't change anything for me.

Well this test is not so weird, it actually is bullshit. If you reload the image a few times she will spin the other way sooner or later.

I get the same... sometimes left, other times right, but I need to put a hand on the screen to get her to change directions... and it's not every other time she changes directions... it's pretty random.
I have no idea what that means!
Besides, I think that most of the 'tests' are made up by people that have too little on their hands. Like this one and other rather silly tests that roam the web.

Well we were two people looking at the same screen thinking she went different ways. So no not convinced that it's bullshit, but more some shader trick.

It's simply a 2d image being interpreted by our brain in 3d.
Try closing your eyes and imagine her going the other way. When you look again she will be spinning the way you imagined, as if by magic.

Well get somebody else to look at the screen while your doing your eyes-wide-shut maneuver, to see if it changed for them as well

It took me a minute or two the first time I saw this picture, to make her change directions. Now it isn't a problem.
My trick is to only look at the shadow she casts and imagine her going the other way and then looking up at the picture again.
It is a lovely picture though, would be nice to have as a screensaver type thing, for my backup monitor. Would perhaps be annoying in the long run though.

Always counter-clockwise first, then she randomly changes direction.

Heh, if I look at her with my head straight she goes counter-clockwise, but when I lay my head down against my shoulder she goes clockwise, weird shit, somebody call an excorcist.

Clockwise, and damn near impossible to get her to spin the other way. The peripheral vision trick works for me too, but only sometimes.

Weird - for me she was definitely spinning counter-clocwise. Then tried laying my head on my shoulder, she changed direction. When I straightened my head again, back to counter-clockwise.
I think it's because you look differently at the different parts of her body. The different parts are animated so that they could be moving either way, but your perceived movement depends on what part of her you look at (top/bottom, left/right) - that is one theory, at least.
It still kinda freaks me out, but it's pretty much correct, I am probably more left than right.
