Ferrari started in 1929 as a race car team, manufacturing race cars and sponsoring drivers. In 1947 (60 years ago) they started making street cars as well.

This is an ad by Shell to celebrate this (and their cooperation):

This past weekend the folks from Ferrari put together a 60-year celebration of epic proportions for the prancing horse brand. They put out an invite to basically every Ferrari owner on earth to head on over to Maranello for the b-day bash. The response was certainly a record -- over 1,000 Ferrari vehicles from every age under the yellow crest! The coolest part of the weekend is what may be the closest thing we'll ever see to a live-action version of the Ferrari Shell ad. All that, plus F1 cars doing burnouts and donuts.

The historical F1 cars entered the race track: from the 1947 125 S to the 2006 248 F1, all of them driven by former and actual Ferrari drivers: Ivan Capelli (with a 1932 Alfa Romeo P3), Nino Vaccarella (1040 Auto Avio Costruzioni 815), Luca Badoer (375 F1), Gerhard Berger (500 F2), Andrea De Adamich (Dino 166 F2), Felipe Massa (312 T), Jody Scheckter (312 T4), Rení© Arnoux (126 C4), Jean Alesi (F1-90), Michael Schumacher (F2004), Kimi Raikkonen (F2007) and again Schumacher with the FXX.
