Just been reading/flipping through the - now 26 page long thread at 3drealms about this screenshot. Duke Nukem Forever has simply transcended what is commonly referred to as hype. We're talking a comletely new level here. I mean, after 8 years of no in-game content whatsoever, all of a sudden this little thumbnail surfaces in an obscure fashion:

less than 24 hours later, the whole gaming community is going nuts. There is something very cool about the DNF saga that I can't really put my finger on. A certain snakes-on-a-plane-ish, oldsch00l feel. Whatever it is, it's got me all worked up smiley Maybe in the next 5-7 years, we'll see some ingame video footage!

Just a small off-topic comment. But each time I see the title of this thread I always think about "Ok what has Annie Duke done now"...then I click in and see the Duke Nukeem and go "ahhh".

Time to resurrect this thread!

A teaser trailer has apparently surfaced of Duke Nukem Forever; see it here

If, for some reason, you aren't familiar with one of the internets oldest phenomenons, you can catch up here:

"It's taken longer to develop than the mapping of the human genome. It's the first Google result for "When it's done." It's birthed the longest running development period in video game history, and the longest running joke in internet history. It's still not out. "

Time to resurrection 2.0

Zero Punctuation reviews Duke Nukem Forever...

Pretty good review for a game that was never published. Somehow I think that if it was published it would be exactly like he sayssmiley

They Live

Good movie, although quite outdated. My advise is just watch it, don't read about it. Here is one reason to watch it:

It seems that the duke nukem forever phenomenon has come to a definite end.

This article explains how too much money, perfectionism and upgrades eventually killed the game
