Didn't think it was up for discussion but....

He had a devotion for alchemy, maybe he tried turning lead into gold.

He wrongly predicted the end of the world

Didn't find anything about politics.

He's not known for any of the above

Why would I want to end every post the same way?

I'm sure your teachers have told you that you shouldn't just guess...

He predicted that Armageddon would take place in 2060 AD at the earliest, so he wasn't wrong on that one (yet).

He was a Member of Parliament in 1689 and served for exactly one year. During that time, he said one and only one sentence during the lengthy proceedings: he asked a nearby usher to close an open, drafty window!

The story of the apple falling on his head is a myth; he himself has said that he was looking through a window when he saw an apple fall.

That's a real answer, but all right, your question smiley

I propose new rules for the "answer and ask" game:

1) Don't answer unless you really know the answer (provide a link or reasonable arguments. This won't apply to all questions, so common sense should prevail)

2) Don't answer unless you have a question ready yourself (or can concoct one within a few minutes)

This should keep the lags and breakdowns of this thread to a minimum. Any takers?

I propose "answer or have a qualified guess and ask" and fuck the teachers. But I'm with you on nr. 2.

Who is this?

He is a controversial football figure, once he proposed electrical fences in stadiums to keep the fans from going on to the pitch.

Well, judging from the aerofoils on the end of the wings, and the layout of the undercarriage i'd guess it to be a Airbus A340-600 series. Can't find the exact picture, so I'm afraid I'm gonna wait for verification.

No it's not an Airbus 340-600, or any Airbus for that matter...smiley

I did shuffle trough airliners.net with no result. Tried some crazy alternative search's and nothing. Problem is its a plain with 4 engines like many others. The only thing thats beside all others it has some air intake or something on the front.
I tride Boeing, Airbus, MD and various other makers no result.
I guess since your the only airplane geek we got we need some sort of clue.

The 'air-intakes' seem more like blacked out space on the image. They don't look completely symetrical. The resolution is not good enough for me to determine this with certainty.

1: The spots I'm trying to hide are a countries flag, with that flag in mind you'd find the answer pretty quickly. By looking at the livery you can Google yourself to the name of the airline, which does reveal the country of origin, but it's a bit more work.

2: There aren't many quad engine aircraft in existence, actually a lot fewer then you think...

I don't think you had to worry about anyone seeing the flags on that 2x4 pixel image smiley
