Just because you all seem to enjoy watching 23 sweating men in shorts, running around for 90 minutes!

Nah, give me any other sport, and I might watch it. Soccer just seems ultimately boring to me. smiley

Reposting the question: What Mach 3 reconnaissance aircraft and bomber was scrapped in the design phase, as a result of a British Defence White Paper?

A: Avro 730

"The Avro 730 was a planned British Mach 3 reconnaissance aircraft and bomber for the Royal Air Force. It was cancelled in 1957 along with other development on manned aircraft as part of the 1957 Defence White Paper"

Q: What city?

Out of all the spamsmiley

I'm guessing you're referring to the TSR2. Though it's not a Mach 3 reconnaissance, but rather Mach 2+.

It's still viewed as the best plane ever scrapped by a lot of British folk on airliners.net.

Test frame they built looks yummy.

I might add after searching for: "What Mach 3 reconnaissance aircraft and bomber was scrapped in the design phase, as a result of a British Defence White Paper?" the TSR2 popped up alot so I guess there is something about it aswell.

Odaiba, in Tokyo Bay, Japan?

As Norl stated, the TSR2 is not Mach3. That's one of the reasons I included the Mach 3 part.

What weapons manufacturer (Founded on another famous weapons factory) was purchased by an aeronautical company in 1991?

HK was founded by Edmund Heckler, Theodor Koch, and Alex Seidel in 1949 from the remnants of Mauser ... In 1991 in the wake of the cancellation of the G41 and G11 rifles, H&K was bought by British Aerospace's Royal Ordnance division.

Then again, I did find this through Google and Wikipedia, so I'm likely deceived...

Q: Who's the guy?

He tried to turn lead into gold, even though it was a felony in his time.

He predicted the end of the world.

He tried to be a politician, but his efforts here amounted to ordering a window to be closed.

He's not known for any of that though.

There is a famous, iconic, story about his biggest claim to fame. Which, by his own account, is a myth.

PS: Don't use Google to find the answers; you'll most likely be deceived smiley
