Question:

Who is this?

Hint: A famous politician in the 1980s, his name was heard in the news nearly every day.

From the top down

1: Siljansgranit

2: Uppsalagranit

3: Kvartskrystal (The odd one out) Genkendt med den meget karakteristiske "muslet"brudflade. Alle de andre stenarter er Magmabjergarter (Vulkanitter), mens kvarts er et mineral.

4: Rombeporfyr

5: Basalt (Skånsk)

Er det godkendt?

It's different from what I had it pegged as, but might be more correct. I have the 4th one as the odd one out, and assumed it was a conglomerate because of it's large, different sized, shaped and textured matrix that bears marks of erosion (rounded edges).

The 3rd one I believed to be obsidian, a vulcanized rock type as the other 3.

1. granite
2. wrong
3. obsidian
4. conglomerate
5. basalt.

Aliennizer is on the right track regarding the odd one out, but its not kvartz and not a mineral smiley

2: Gabbro ??

Then the odd one out is the conglomerate, being a sediment and all. And all the others vulcanic rocks.

Gabbro is very close, but it isn't quite mafic enough for a gabbro. Might not be totally fair of me to post that picture, since proper identification might not be possible without closer inspection. Its a Diorite. And yes, all the rocks are igneous except for the conglomerate which is sedementary. Well done smiley

Q: What haematophagous insect was for the first time recorded in the Faroe Islands in 2002?

The tick is incorrect. smiley

But Torellion is on the right track, It is indeed Stomoxys calcitrans. There is a article in Frodskaparriti about the first find in the Faroe Islands. The true vampirefly smiley

P.S. The wasp is not a haematophagous insect. ie. it does not feed on blood.
