OK, so this is not TED, but it is nonetheless a very interesting lecture on the hazards of sugar. He blames it for some things; - has good arguments too.
I'm now convinced fructose is a toxin much like ethanol.

Must be the first talk I've seen where I disagree completely with the speaker.
EDIT: To be fair, I didn't disagree with everything said. What I just cannot accept is his confusion when it comes to values vs. facts. The rest is fine.

This man argues that creating marine reserves, i.e. areas that protected from all fishing, is the way to rebuild the oceans and to catch more fish. We need to stop focusing on the individual species and start thinking about ecosystems.
The talk focuses on coral reefs in tropical areas, but I wondered if this approach would be applicable to the North Atlantic, and it is:. This rapport supports the case for developing marine reserves in the North Atlantic. But does not mention anything about the Faroe Islands.
Apparently, we are fishing sustainably. and we currently do have some marine reserves, or spatial closures, but these are only limiting the use of certain gear there, trawling gear and so on. Why not just go the whole way and make the area completely fishing free for the next say..50 years and then evaluate?
