Well, it's only 218.000,- Dkr.
You'll earn that in a week. Won't you?

Well no, but it's not like it's out of my league.
Just need to pay off my debts or alternatively restructuring them.

Pretty much the same, but you can find some of those for sale here in the Faroes. I can check the import rates.

Think 200k is a bit too much for a car for my current financial situation.

Well, in that case, I've got a 240 GLE from '86 that just needs a bit of tender care to run, that I can let you have cheap

Your point being? You still need to know the factory cost of the car in question, to be able to utilize Akstovan's calculator.

@Thomsen: Can you guesstimate how much this car or this car would cost me?
Or alternatively find me a good buy in the 3-series

Is stationcar a criteria, or can it be a sedan?
If it's just a 3-series diesel, then I can get you a price of a good one tomorrow.

Doesn't need to be a diesel. Just a 3-series that isn't 100 years old, hasn't driven 1 million kilometers, isn't lacking basic amenities and doesn't cost 200,000 kr+
Which basically means it has to be imported as the Faroese prices are overinflated.
By my fast calculations those two there should set me back about 150k.

Well, a loose estimate based on the invoice levels of 2004 (couldn't get 2002) puts them at:
Beemer 1 117.500,- to 121.500,- est. in FO.
Beemer 2 120.000,- to 124.000,- est. in FO.
Am not completely certain of the VAT on this, so don't hang me on it yet.
I know of a much better equipped BMW 320d sedan, although 2 years older, in FO, for a current bid of 185.000,- so they don't look all bad, but don't have nearly as much equipment as the one for 185.000,-

How about this one (renamed) Beemer 3 for 185.000,- to 195.000,- ?
Or this one Beemer 4 for 175.000,- to 185.000,- ?

35% of the total cost is a lot to pay for "equipment".

It all depends on the level of 'creature comforts' you want in a car.
What do you not want to be without and what do you not want of equipment in a car? (remember, BMW's don't have anything as standard. Not AC, CD-player, electric windows in the rear or anything of the likes pre-2006)

Well it seems that Beamer 2 has AC, electric windows and central locking...

Beemer 1 has manual AC, electric windows in the front (manual in the rear), window wiper in the rear, foglights in the front and central locking.
Beemer 2 has automatic climate control, electric windows in the front (only), window wiper in the rear, (maybe) foglights in the front, xenon lights and they all have central locking. Only extra on Beemer 2 is the AC, xenon and what could look like a CD player.
Now, Beemer 3 has leather interior, xenon lights, automatic climate control, CD-player, park distance control, rainsensor for the front wipers, automatic interior rear-view mirror, built-in bluetooth, multi-function steering-wheel, Onboard computer, front-light washer system, electric windows (front and rear it seems), electric side-view mirrors, central-locking, center-armrest w/storage and cup-holder. And it's a sedan.
Beemer 4 is similarly equipped (+/- some things). Main difference, it has a MD-player.
Some would say, that this is worth the extra money. Others would say that it's unneccesary luxuries. Which would you prefer? The scraped model or the fully stocked ones?

Since it's a 50% price increase for a two-year older car, I'm inclined to say that the people in the back can roll up their own windows and hold their coffee cups.

The cupholder is in the drivers corner
Beemer 3 and 4 are the same age as Beemer 1 and 2. (I used your own search criteria on mobile.de) The one already in FO is 2 years older and costs the same as Beemer 3 or 4.
