What do these men have in common (other than the obvious) and who are they.

Ok let's start by figuring out who they all are.

From left to right:

Cafu, Roberto Carlos, some mafioso from inter, Lothar Matthaus, ??? and Pele.

Without having done any research on the matter, I would guess, that all these players have had the rare experience of both winning and losing the World Cup final.

They are? No

Clue #2 One of them is the odd one out, but not really out.

Can't figure out who the Inter guy is. Have checked through all the Italy 2006 squad and Inter's current squad and he's not there smiley

Clue #4 He has played for Inter his entire career, and retired in 1999

I've been trying to think about who the goalkeeper is. He looks really familiar, which should mean that I've seen him play a few times.

My first thoughts were on Turkey and Greece, but no joy.

One thing would be how many world cups they've played in, and I thought the magic number was 4 (with Matthäus having 5)
However, Roberto Carlos and the Italian have only been in 3.

So what makes Matthäus the odd one out? Maybe it's that he's played in 2 national teams - Germany and W.Germany

Bergomi has played in 4 World Cups as well - 82 86 90 and 98.

So that might be it, now we only need to figure out who the goalkeeper is smiley

edit: still Roberto Carlos doesn't fit, so nm.

Ok what does fit for these guys (+ Maradona) but not Zidane...

Francesco Toldo looks a bit like that guy, but Toldo looks younger and I think he's only been to 3 World Cups

I am very sorry guys, but one of my sources has given me wrong information. I should have double checked. You have to strike Roberto Carlos out of there. smiley

Aha!
So I take it that the 4 WC-thing was right.

Then we need to find the goalie...
