Taking into account the frequency of Lamech's visits on this page, I think we should just go ahead and declare vuzmans answer as valid.

I'll just ask a question for vuz since i'm already writing...

Q: what is the source of all evil and needs to be erradicated from the universe?

ok, that one was just too easy. Better do it yourself Vuz smiley

"Religion is the source of quite a lot of evil, but that didn't make for a very catchy title" --Richard Dawkins

Alright, I'll come with a new question.

Try not to scroll below this picture (in case you see the answer someone has posted), and try to come up with the answer yourself. It's more fulfilling that way smiley

... hmmmm, something about those angles, but the surface is still the same, hmmm.... I guess it has to be evil, the hole is the amount of evil in that math thingy

The two angled blocks that make up the hypotenuse of the complete triangle do not have the same angle (i.e., their hypotenuse is of different lengths).

More specifically the smaller block has a hypotenuse that is ~5.4 blocks long and has a gradient of 2/5 = 0.4. The larger block has a hypotenuse ~ 8.5 blocks long and has a gradient of 3/8 = .375.

This difference in angle creates differences in size of the whole complete triangle depending upon using the higher gradient at the point where the triangle is thick or thin. I.e., the triangle is bigger if the 0.4 gradient block is used on the bottom, hence it creates an empty space when using these building blocks, which have a set amount of blocks that they cover.

That make sense? It's my explanation and I'm sticking with itsmiley

Finally found a page talking about this, which confirmed my answer...with the addition that because the two angled pieces don't have the same gradient the complete figure isn't really a triangle but rather four-sided.

New question coming up.
