I've recently booked our family holiday (29 May - 9 June).

Copenhell started as a two-day festival, Friday and Saturday. They later added half a Thursday, but this year they are going for three full days. The start on Wednesday is because that's the only available day Iron Maiden had.
It is somewhat inconvenient, but like other people have remarked, a true metal fan wouldn't whine about it, he'd just take the days off. You could even settle for taking just Thursday and Friday off and still see the headliner on Wednesday.
Also, I suppose it would be nice to have Saturday and Sunday to recuperate?
(Seems to me like 11-13 June is perfect for a post-family-holiday metal festival...?)
