As you may notice on the picture, that iron-threaded tower is missing.
I guess it is related to the national holiday on the Azores, Easter Monday.

I will try to follow up as I learn more portugese... I am not sure why this is here yet...

edit: I suppose those metal-thingies have something to do with one of the many festivals in the city, maybe a new-year festival or a brazilian samba festival.

edit2: Further reading (and better understanding of the portugese language!) made me to find some more inforamtion on the statue itself:

Villo, Gonzalo (Goní§alo Velho Cabral de Mello)
if you read carefully at the bottom of the statue, you find the first part of the name.
1390-1460. Portuguese navigator. Discoverer of the Azores in 1432.

Do you mean the statue, or that metal-thingy in the background?

The plaza is the main plaza of the city of Ponta Delgado. That rock in the middle of the street is a statue of "one of the discoverers of the Azores" in 1432, Goní§alo Velho Cabral.

That white house to the right of the picture is the townhall. The Arch are the city-gates, â€œPortas da Cidade,â€

I could't identify the specific church-tower, but is one of the three churches, "Matriz de Sí£o Sebastií£o", "Sí£o Pedro", and "Sí£o Joí£o"

Unfortunately, I cannot identify the metal-stuff in the picture, but as I guessed earlier, it must be part of some festival or celebration.

There are reasons for not having a file-upload/holder service on Gongumenn.
I propose we use another service for this. FlyUpload (and most other file-uploading services) are heavy and clumsy and usually allow you only to upload or download.

I've uploaded your file to Drop.io, here's the link: drop.io/gongumenn
The benefits are that there's a built-in media player, so we don't have to download, and we can gather a lot of files into one page (and it's not drowning in ads

). There's 100 MB free in each 'drop', and if we need more, we can just create another (or delete old files).
