The Itaipu Dam cost $18 billion USD, it was "built", maybe doesn't qualify as a building, I don't know.

Don't have time for an ungoogleable (yes it's a word I googled it) question, easy one probably, so who appears in the movie Smokin' Aces and is born on the 14th of July 1966?

No but I'm quite certain that it's cost is less the the Wynn Las Vegas, mostly because 2.7 billion dollars is more the the yearly GDP of communist Romania. Think of the Wynn as that palace, just built in a place where people are payed wages for their work. The Wynn is one crazy place for sure.

The estimated building cost of the Palace of Parliament of Romenia, Bucharest is about 3.3 billion euros which is about $4.6 billion USD. It is a ginormeous building. It measures 270 m by 240 m, 86 m high, and 92 m under ground. It has 1,100 rooms and is 12 stories tall, with four additional underground levels. They had to bulldoze 1/6 of Bucharest to start construction on the building. No wonder the majority of the people don't want to set foot in it.

Thanks Jones that sums it up altough it was communist Romania they used most of their rescources on this project.
- "Over 700 architects and three shifts of 20.000 workers laboured on it 24 hours a day for five years"
- "In the 1980s, when lit, the building consumed a day's electricity supply for the whole of Bucharest in four hours"

Still there is no official building cost, all one find is blogs conjecture (not even wikipedia puts up a number). Which is to be expected when it was built in a non-market economy.
It's the same with other buildings built for "great leaders", such as the Palace of Versailles and Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidents House, built for the Viceroy, completed in 1931) in India. Can even add the pyramids in Egypt (&Mexico) and the Forbidden City in Beijing to this list. Point is that these things arn't expensive in currency, even if they take a great toll on the country.
Anyhow back to the topic at hand.
